Caroline Behind the Desk

Caroline Cotter works at the reception desk at the UCB Training Center. She loves it when I take her picture.

Caroline Cotter had a close encounter!
I stopped by to see Caroline and noticed an alien about to abduct her. I’ll be honest, I didn’t believe in alien abductions before this moment. Now I have photographic proof.
I was able to speak to the alien. He (I’m not sure of his gender, I suppose he could be a she or an it. But he has a mustache, so I am sticking with he) said his name was “James McCarthy” and when I asked what planet he was from he told me “This is just a costume for a sketch I am doing at Maude Night with my Maude Team Beige.” which I assume translates to DEATH PLANET 10!
I tried to get Caroline to run away but she said “This is my friend James. You are the creep who keeps bothering me” so I guess she is already under the thrall of this alien.I only hope I see her again. I should have done more.

Siobhan Thompson uses her iPad whenever she’s feeling down. She’ll turn it on, pull up a photo of Caroline and almost immediately she’ll brighten up and be taken over by the infectious happiness that flows off of Caroline.
I caught this moment when Siobhan was overdosing on Caroline by having her virtual Caroline open while standing near the real Caroline. Siobhan’s joy was almost uncontainable. She passed out moments after this picture. As she lay collapsed on Caroline I could hear Caroline look at me and mutter “why do you do this to me?”

I captured a great moment recently as I saw Katey Healy-Wurzburg gifting Caroline with an amazing piece of art. An original Healy-Wurzburg is a centerpiece of any serious artist’s collection.
I asked Caroline what she was going to do with the art and she told me, “Every week we go through this. Stop taking pictures of me!” After that Katey, Caroline and I had a good laugh. Katey went back to her studio and I could hear Caroline call her art consultant. “Security” she said into the phone “he’s back”.
I was so excited over Caroline’s new art piece that I ran down the stairs in the back of the building.

Caroline Cotter wins the Bozie, the offical award given by Adam Bozarth for work in the field of Bozarth or Bozarth related actions or Bozarth approved actions. The last 3 recipients of the award were all Adam Bozarth so this is a big win for Caroline!
I asked Caroline what she did to deserve the award and she said “Why are you still taking these pictures of me? Please… just… stop.” So shy, so humble.

Caroline Cotter works very hard at the UCB Training Center. Answering phones, moving tables, helping with the vending machine, dealing with students, posing for photographs… she just doesn’t have time to get away. So her friend Vincent Moore decided to bring a little vacation to Caroline’s desk.
Vincent runs a farm a few miles outside of New York City. So he brought one of his smaller buffalo from the farm to the training center to make Caroline’s day go a little better. Vincent Fact: Vincent has been raising Buffalo for over 5 years, and supplies 30% of the city’s buffalo burgers with their meat.
I caught this moment where he was feeding his buffalo a common house plant. I didn’t realize that’s what buffalo eat. But I trust Vincent to treat his animals right, and he says they’ll eat almost any plant if you stroke the back of their neck.
Caroline couldn’t be happier with this visit from Vincent’s Buffalo Farm!

It’s time for Caroline Cotter’s book club with fellow readers John Timothy and George Kareman. This book club is run a little differently, because everyone reads different books. So instead of discussing a book together, they sit around and tell each other about the book they read. They either recommend it to the rest of the group or they tell them to avoid it.
It seems more confusing because they seem to talk at the same time too. In this photo John and George are reading their favorite passages to Caroline who didn’t have time to read a book that week. Caroline’s not embarrassed though. It would take more then having a busy week to ruin her eternally present smile.

The well-dressed Joey Price can put a smile on any face, even if it’s redundant like masking the ever-smiling Caroline Cotter.
Joey Price always carries a handful of smiles in his pocket. When he is at a fancy restaurant (and when does Joey dine anywhere other then NY’s finest restaurants?) he hands them out like business cards. If he charms an investment banker who gives Joey his card telling him “lets work on a project together” Joey responds with “have a smile” and then moves on. His smiles don’t have his phone number or any contact information on them. So I assume there are lots of very important business men sitting around staring at Joey’s smiles trying to figure out “Who was that well dressed man?”
